Every year, several million tones of plastic are thrown away as a matter of course in Europe alone. According to estimates, 4.8 to 12.7 million tones of plastic waste end up in our oceans every year, which is roughly equivalent to one lorry load per minute. If nothing changes, there will be more plastic than fish in the sea by 2050. This development requires a rethink and action. For our environment, for our children, for our future.
